SECRET MAKE-UP?

Milton, here for Kristy:

Is it true? Do all women have secret make-up?

I don't know. Men are dumb--stupid on those things.

Kristy was aglow yesterday. Her color was just simply beautiful. Her skin color and hair color have always been beautiful but they were more radiant for some reason in the last days. I've always told her how beautiful she is to me and I did yesterday too.

"You're so beautiful, Kristy," I said.

She whispered, "Thank you."

One of the ladies from the church brought food late yesterday and slipped into her room to see her. She was sleeping. Mary Jane quietly said, "She always looks so beautiful. She is beautiful."

Just before she went to Hospice when she was having difficulty finding and remembering things, I would help her find and pick out her make-up. She struggled to remember what each item was and would say, "Men have it so easy."

I would say, "Can I help you put it on?"

She would look at me, "Are you kidding? No way!"

She has always gotten ready really fast and looked like a knockout, but now her natural colors are coming out more and her beauty inside is glowing with colors beyond my words. She can't sit at the mirror and put anything on her face or fix her hair, but she's a beauty.

She must have some secret make-up. I wonder what it is?

How is Kristy?

Yesterday was a good day. She talked all throughout the day with clarity. There were confused moments, but she actually talked on the phone twice to family and I called on my way home from church last night and talked to her.

We are trusting and believing God. God is good. Please keep Kristy and us in your prayers.

Hi Milton and Kristy,
Yes, Kristy is beautiful! She has that inner glow talked about in 1 Peter: "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is of great worth in God's sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful."

I have read that verse many times, and even taught on it, but the phrase..."put their hope in God" ...says it all.

Kristy has put her hope in God and that gives her peace and a beauty that doesn't fade.

I am so glad she had a good day yesterday and was able to speak more to you and other family members. What a gift! What a blessing!

I am praying for you all today.

Love and prayers from NJ,
Carrie

Milton, I saw Kristy's prayer request on Jan Parrish's site. As I read your posts, tears are staining my cheeks. How very blessed Kristy is to have you in her life, I can feel the love in every word you write! Know that many, many people are sending prayers to GOd on her behalf. With love!

Couldn't help but think of the old hymn "Let The Beauty Of Jesus Be Seen In Me". Surely that is what is eminating from Kristy. She has dedicated her life to the Lord and is filled with his presence.
Blessings to all of you who are so faithful to be her caregivers this day.

ROFLOL! I can just hear Kristy saying "No Way!" That made me laugh. It's Jesus within her that is bringing out her inner beauty. What a beautiful picture.

I'm so glad that she had a day yesterday in which she had clarity of mind and could even use the phone. What special treasured memories.

For Milt, I can only say that you have a job right now that few people can handle with as much grace and faith as you have. A caregiver gives so much of himself or herself. I lpray for strength for you and comfort for Kristy.

Tell Kristy I am reading her novella right now in "Wedded Bliss" called "Reunited." She writes a wonderful and beautiful story that will last a lifetime and more!
Not only is Kristy beautiful but so is her gift of writing.

Hi i agree with all the other bloggers today , I am reading Kiss The Bride book right now. I just finished 2 other books of Kristy's . These books really show what a Proverbs 31 woman is like, the Purity in single women in her books . Kristy is beautiful inside and out. Praying you, girls and grands are doing well in God's strength. She has alot of love in that home surrounding her.
God Bless You All

"No way"? LOL

Maybe the thought of you putting Kristy's makeup on her reminds her of a certain youth camp skit:

The Beauty Demo.

A boy pretending to be a girl stands behind a table full of cosmetics--cold cream, face powder, lipstick, etc.--and someone behind him, partly behind a curtain, only arms exposed, applies the cosmetics to the "girl's" face as she earnestly describes the beauty process. Neither is able to see what the applyer is doing to the applyee and the whole thing is hilarious.

Thanks for the giggle.

Yes, Kristy is beautiful. I was sitting at a table beside the restaurant doo in Nashville, I believe, at ACFW, when she popped in, and that was the first time I saw her and thought, "She is darling."

Prayers and blessings for you all today. : )

"Restaurant doo"???

I have no idea how I managed that typo. In fact, I know very well I didn't write that.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain! LOL

Oh, wait, restaurant "door," of course. Silly me, too gentle on the r. It's my Southern accent.

Milton and family,

I cannot begin to tell you how much your blog has touched my soul.

I started reading the blog when Lisa my daughter, who knows Julie, told me of Kristy.

Kristy has beauty that radiates from within. One can see that by her photos.

Yes she is beautiful. Your family, with such love for God, is beautiful.

My prayers go out to you all the time.

In Christ's love.
