I have watched for days to see if Kristy could read or if she could write. She would attempt to write a word or so and it would not make sense. She couldn't read but a word or two and then it would be too hard to continue. She has handled this loss with the greatest grace and peace you could imagine.
Reading and writing has been her life for years. She loves to read and is an outstanding speed reader and boy can she write--almost volumes a day it has seemed. Now suddenly she couldn't do either.
As we ended the day last evening, we talked about what was happening. We discussed whether this looked permanent or not. We discussed many aspects of life including her books that she is in the process of writing as well as some that are finished and what to do with them. I asked what the titles were for some of them, and we talked about how or if we thought she could finish those in progress.
I was wondering how to find them in her computer if things didn't get better? I was wondering what this would mean for her and for us?
Then she got too tired and it was a little overwhelming emotionally. Finally we joined hands as we lay in bed just before falling into sleep and prayed again for God's healing in her body. We prayed that God would restore and renew her mind. We gave this issue of reading and writing to the Lord once more....and then she fell into restful sleep.
I couldn't sleep much at all thinking about all this and what it meant. Well into the middle of the night I worked on several things and did some reading. She woke up first in the morning and I heard her up and asked what are you doing?
She replied I am writing something down and its good. I am writing....
It was about 6 short, brief lines, but it was coherent and her letters were perfectly formed. It was a supernatural start to a glorious, completed miracle.
Last night, God answered prayer.
Later that morning she went to her computer for the first time and looked at a few pictures from my blogs. She was reading a few words and able to type in her AOL account address.
Amazing....Praise God. God answered prayer just last night.
How is Kristy?
Read the previous lines....Kristy is beginning to be Kristy again.
A Miracle on Monday
Would you join with us at 3:30 this Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, in prayer at the time of her first radiation treatment? Thousands are praying around the world for Kristy.
It just seemed to dawn on me that while the concentrated radiation was being shot into her brain that focused prayer of thousands of believers around the world praying at this same time would also have powerful impact. Do you agree? Will you set this time aside to pray for her? Surely God would hear our combined, united prayer for her healing.
If you have a blog site I humbly ask you to put this Miracle on Monday request on your blog site to request prayer, this would mean so much to us.
If you are a pastor could you put this request in your bulletin or mention it to your people?
If you are a prayer leader/intercesser then please share this prayer request with your group.
Please keep praying for Kristy....for us.
I am bloging at her request.
