KINDNESS COUNTS...

Milton, here:

Kristy and I have enjoyed many years of partnership in life and ministry. We have done it all together through the thick and thin. Most of our ministry has been pastoral, and then we traveled and spoke in hundreds of churches across Florida, the South, parts of the U.S., and overseas.

I received an email recently from one of the pastors, Rev. Tom Finken, whom we had spoken for during our ministry-traveling days. He said he had been praying for Kristy and reading her blog. His words were a real comfort and encouragement to me. He is a very diligent and sincere man of God.

He said that he and his wife had been praying for us and talking about us in their home. Their teenagers asked who they were talking about. They said you know her. She is the lady who gave you some money for a treat when they spoke for us.

Tom said their eyes lit up as they recalled the kindness Kristy had shown in giving these PK's (preachers' kids) a monetary gift. They remembered her because they were touched by her love and compassion.

Tom further said, "Sorry, Milton, they didn't remember you."

Kristy had a tradition to give every PK a money gift and tell them how special they were. She gave away lots of money and even more love to all those kids. I am sure all of them remember her over me because kindness speaks louder than words--even from a great, but humble preacher like me. (A little humor there....very little.)

Kindness is a wonderful preaching tool that can be life impacting without ever standing before a crowd.

Find a child today or someone in need and share an act of kindness. You will be long remembered. Kindness really counts.
