I SEE JESUS, STANDING AT THE FATHER'S RIGHT HAND

When our friends Lennie and Cheryl came to see us last week, he had something unique to say (for the full article, scroll down to "It's Going To Be Okay").

Lennie said he saw God STANDING. He said at football games, when the important people in the private boxes STAND, there's something important going on down on the field. "Kristy," Lennie said, "something is happening that's important."

Lennie told me to judge what he said with what the Bible says. He told me to re-read the story of Stephen in Acts because the Lord was STANDING.

In most scriptural references, the Lord SITS on the throne:

"I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man (Me) SITTING at the right hand of the Mighty One..." (Mark 14:62. NIV).

"To him who SITS on the throne and to the Lamb..." (Revelation 5:13, NIV).

BUT in Acts 7:54, Stephen saw Jesus STANDING: "But Stephen, full of the Holy Ghost, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus STANDING at the right hand of God (NIV)."

Having been diagnosed with GBM brain cancer, having endured brain surgery and complications, having gone through weeks of daily radiation treatments and unpleasant side effects, I can tell you that what Lennie said COMFORTS MY SOUL: to know that Jesus is ATTENTIVE to me, and is even STANDING UP as He watches me.

This doesn't give me an inflated sense of importance.

IT GIVES ME COMFORT.

HE'S WATCHING ME. HE'S HELPING ME, EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.

An old hymn says, "It is no secret, what God can do. What He's done for others, He'll do for you..."

Do you need comfort today? Do you need encouragement? Things aren't going just right for you? Have a challenge in front of you? A river to cross? A mountain in your way?

Take heart! Jesus is STANDING, looking at you with love and cheer.

What an encourager you are,Kristy! Isn't it wonderful to know that the God of the universe care about our every need--even before we know about them? Still praying, precious lady. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Thanks Kristy, for the encouraging words of this blog. They really lifted me knowing that God is standing looking over me with love and cheer. I have been going through a rough time and yours and Milton's blogs have really helped and lifted me. Our prayers are with you.
Love,
Linda Reece
