Milton, here for Kristy:
I'm watching the last Presidential debate as I type. It is a real dousy of an argument and differences. There are lots of promises being made and fingers pointing everywhere. Who is right? How do you get to the truth? Where is trust in our Country? Who can you trust?
I know that where there is no truth there can be no trust. Truth and trust go together. Trust is always predicated on truth.
Truth was the strong point of my marriage with Kristy. We trusted each other totally because we lived with truth with each other. There were never any hidden agendas between us. No, we were not perfect and we had big differences as creative leaders will and do, but we built our marriage on truth that released trust and in turn blessed us.
Honesty was and is the best policy for Presidential debates and for spousal arguments and differences. Honesty eventually prevails for untruthfulness will eventually lead to mistrust and failure.
I am grateful beyond words that I could look into Kristy's eyes as she left this world to go to the glory world and know that our marriage was built on fair and honest living with no regrets or shame.
Truth and trust are rare and very extraordinary gifts. Without them, we fail. With them, we thrive.

I know that "MOST" ministers do not cross the line as fare as politics are concerned. What I mean is, they do not lead the congragation towards whom they them selfs may vote for. But, in the state of our current political situation, I believe that may Christians need to be lead, and need to know how our leaders (Pastors, Priest etc) are voting.
I feel so strongly about this election we are facing now. I almost feel in my heart that this is a fight between good and evil. I know that we need to pray and ask for God's guidance, but many of us have a hard time hearing that little voice.
I do see 1 person running that believes in Pro-choice, and Gay rights, so I think; (knowing what the bible says about both of those issues), that is not a person we Christian's would want running our Country.
But I still really wish we had more guidance/advice from our leaders.
Is this wrong?
In the last debate, both candidates said they were still in favor of marriage between man and woman--that is the only true marriage. But they BOTH said they were not against gay partners being able to see each other in the hospital and secure benefits that other couples have. These are not hateful candidates, and they stand up for what's morally right.
I believe we need to pray and listen. Whoever God promotes--and this is scriptural--is the one who will be put in that office. The Lord already knows who it will be.
Prayer for our nation is in order. The current administration is leaving it in a major mess.
I'm a firm believer that just because a person is a Christian does not qualify them for the presidency. Too often we Believers don't think things through--we pick one issue such as abortion, and that's who we automatically vote for. I agreed with McCain last night when he said that he would NOT choose judges based on any one issue, including whether they were for or against abortion. Both candidates agree on this.
Pray and trust. Good advice, Milton.
I have appreciated this blog being a politics-free zone.
But, I agree, trust is an important concept to consider for all of us. Especially when it really matters. For instance who do we trust for our eternal salvation?
Kate.
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, repent of their sins, and seek my face...I will heal their land...GOD
Fast and pray...GOD
If God is for it...vote that way!
If God is against it...vote His Way!
There is a way that seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof is destruction...GOD
We had a premie (26 1/2 weeks) grandson.
Most babies are aborted at 26-32 weeks.
From conception they are a living breathing soul.
I watched him develop in an isolette for 3 1/2 months..it was an awsome experience.
Doctors said,
"He'll be a vegatable." Today...He's a junior in High School...graduates in 2010.
Making plans to go to college. Faithfully..runs the sound system for his youth group services; and learned from a class survey, by a teacher of Democratic persuation, that he is a conservative!
I asked him,
"How do you know that?"
He said, "The answers I gave to the questions she asked told me that I was NOT a liberal but a conservative! My answers told me that I have genuine concerns about life that are godly and good and right..on!"
He told his teacher,
"Guess What? I am a Republican and proud of it, too!"
He's still smiling about it!
Thank goodness "an abortion reject"
is standing up for what we all should stand up for...What is Right in the sight of God.......
PRO-LIFE..."
Jesus said, "I come to give you LIFE that you might have it more abundantly."
To the woman at the well...
Jesus spoke to her, "I have living water...(you will never thirst again)."
...for every temptation there is a way of escape...if you look for it.
Research your concerns...get the true facts...voting records are available to you...if you seek the truth.
Hope that helps!

This is about yesterday's blog because the comment I tried to leave didn't take. Hi Milton! I was so happy to see that you hosted another event in your home. Yes, Kristy IS so proud of you and so am I. Your last comment touched me deeply. You said you choose to go forward. You must do that because Kristy would not stand for anything else and neither would those of us who love you and her as a couple and separately. I recognize that it takes courage and determination to make that choice. I'm praying for you and beaming "yes, you can!" thoughts your way. Your friend, Kathy
